Import your CJ Affiliate commissions

CJ does not ask you to decline a sale; you send a correction. A full correction for a returned or cancelled order, a partial one for a restatement. What the two have in common is the lock: "Cancellations cannot be processed for orders that are already in a Locked or Closed status."¹ The import is how AffCheck sees what is still open.

Export the Commission Detail report

1. Sign in to the CJ Account Manager (members.cj.com).
2. Open the Commission Detail report.
3. Pick the dates you want to check, including new and extended actions.
4. Download it as CSV.²

Import it

Drop the file on the network zone of the Imports screen. The preset looks for CJ's own field names — the action or original action id, the order id, the sale amount, the publisher commission, the action status, the event date and the publisher id and name. As with every network, the headings have not been confirmed against a real export yet, so AffCheck may ask you once which column is which and will remember the answer.

The deadline is a date, not a day count

Most CJ programmes work to a calendar deadline: "Correction data can be sent on a rolling daily basis, or before the 10th of the month for transactions which occurred in the prior calendar month."¹ A January transaction has to be corrected before 10 February, whether it was tracked on the 2nd or the 30th.

AffCheck models that directly rather than pretending it is a number of days: CJ rows are dated to the 10th of the month after the transaction's month. Programmes on a custom lifecycle lock a fixed number of days after the event instead — for a 60-day lifecycle, sixty days after the event date.¹ If that is your programme, switch the rule to a day count on the Deadlines screen.

Transactions in the NEW and ACCEPTED states can also be extended, which buys another cycle; LOCKED and CORRECTED transactions cannot.³

Reason codes

CJ's correction file carries a reason code per row. RETRN is returned merchandise and DUPO is a duplicate order; the codes are case-sensitive.¹ AffCheck's own reason codes line up with them, and the CJ commission corrections guide walks through the whole correction.

If you run CJ's Shopify app

The CJ Network Integration app has an opt-in "Automated Order Corrections" feature that sends cancellations and restatements made in Shopify. It does not cover changes made before you enabled it, changes made outside Shopify, or anything after a transaction has locked.⁴ Those are what the import finds.
