Affiliate commission leak check (free tool)

Drop a network export and a Shopify orders export to see commission on refunded, cancelled and double-claimed orders. Files never leave your browser.

Files never leave your browser. The check runs on this device; nothing is uploaded.

Add both files and the check starts by itself.

Add code owners (optional)

Discount codes you gave to one creator or publisher. When a different publisher claims an order that used the code, the check flags it. One per line: the code, then the publisher id or name as it appears in the network file, optionally the network.

How to export the files

Export from your network

Network
  1. Open Reports → Performance → Transactions.
  2. Set Transaction Status to Pending and pick the dates you want to check.
  3. Options → Export as CSV.

Export CSV, not Excel. If your file has different column names, the check asks you to match them once.

Export from Shopify

  1. In Shopify admin, open Orders and filter to the same dates as the network export, starting a few days earlier.
  2. Click Export and choose the orders to export (all orders, or by date).
  3. Under Export as, pick a CSV file (Plain CSV or CSV for Excel), then click Export orders.

Bigger exports (or exports by date) arrive by email to you and the store owner. The file includes customer columns; the check never reads them.

What the check looks for

Every pending transaction in your network export is matched to its Shopify order by the order number. Then each one gets one of these reasons, or none:

  • Full refund or cancelled: decline. The customer didn’t keep the order.
  • Partial refund: amend the sale to what the customer kept; the network recalculates the commission.
  • Test or staff order: decline. Paid through Shopify’s test gateway, or tagged test or staff.
  • Claimed twice: the same order tracked twice on one network (decline one), or on two networks (check which publisher really sent the customer).
  • Not found in Shopify: no order with that number in your export. Check it by hand; it may be older than the export.

Everything is a suggestion. You decide what to decline under your network’s terms, and nothing is sent to the network for you.

How we know your files stay on your device

The check runs in a Web Worker inside this tab. The page loads everything it needs up front, so after it has loaded it works with no connection at all:

Try it

Turn off Wi-Fi after the page loads. The check still works.

The page’s security policy only lets it talk to this site and our cookieless analytics, which receive bands like “100–500” and never an order number, amount or file name. Two things are sent only if you ask: the column names of a file that didn’t work (you see exactly what before sending), and the totals when you ask us to email the result. Details are on the security page.

Which exports work

Awin (Classic and the new platform) and CJ are recognised by their column names. Any other network works too: if the check doesn’t know the layout, it asks you once which column is the order number, the sale amount, the commission, the status, the date and the publisher, and this browser remembers the answer.

Questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. The check reads both files inside your browser tab, in a Web Worker, and keeps the result in memory. After the page has loaded it works with Wi-Fi turned off.

Which files do I need?

Your network’s pending transactions as CSV (Awin, CJ or any other network) and your Shopify orders export for the same dates, starting a few days earlier. The export steps are next to the drop zones.

My network export has different column names. Will it work?

Yes. If the check doesn’t recognise the layout, it asks you once which column is the order number, sale amount, commission, status, date and publisher, and remembers it in this browser.

Does it decline anything for me?

No. It lists suggestions with the reason for each; you decide what to decline or amend in your network, under its terms.
