Keyboard shortcuts in the review queue
The six keys that move, select and decide rows in the review queue on a desktop, and when they are deliberately inert.

The review queue can be worked without a mouse. Six keys, no modifiers, no chords.
The keys

The hint row under the queue is the same list. If the two ever disagree, the app is right and this page is wrong — tell us.
Where they work
Desktop only. Below tablet width the queue is a read-only card list with no per-row decisions, so there is nothing for the keys to act on. See the phone section of the review queue page.
They are also deliberately inert while:
- a text input has focus — typing an amend amount or a search term must never decline a row;
- the evidence drawer is open — the drawer is a dialog and owns the keyboard, including
Escto close it.
Closing the drawer puts the focus back on the row that opened it, so J continues from where you were.
Amends need the amount
There is no shortcut for amend, and that is on purpose: an amend needs a number, and a key that silently accepted the suggested amount would be a decision you did not make. Use the amend button on the row and confirm the amount.
Screen readers
The cursor row is the focused row, so tabbing and reading follow the same path the keys do. Everything the keys do is also reachable as an ordinary button in the row.
Bulk work
X builds a selection row by row. Shift-click selects a range between the last tick and the row you click, in screen order. Once something is selected, the bulk bar takes over and says exactly what a confirmation would write, per action and per currency, before anything is saved. See deciding many rows at once.

Why do the shortcuts do nothing on my phone?
Below tablet width the queue is a read-only card list. Decisions there go through “Confirm all suggested”, which spells out what it would write before anything is saved.
How do I get the hint row back?
Press ? again. The row under the queue is the same list as this page; hiding it is remembered in that browser.
