PayAudit alternative for affiliate refunds

PayAudit and AffCheck set out to solve the same problem: affiliate networks pay commission on Shopify orders that were later refunded or cancelled, unless someone declines them in time. If you are comparing the two, the short version is this. PayAudit works on Awin today and can send decisions to Awin by API. AffCheck is built for stores on several networks, adds cross-network duplicate and voucher checks, and offers a free check that runs in your browser. It is also earlier: the AffCheck app is not live yet.

We found no independent coverage or reviews to cross-check it against, so treat it as the vendor's own description and check the current version before you decide.

What PayAudit is

PayAudit describes itself as "Built for Shopify brands running AWIN" and promises to "Protect affiliate revenue before commissions are paid."¹ It is a hosted app. It fetches pending transactions from the Awin API, or accepts an uploaded Awin report, and matches each one to its Shopify order. Outcomes are ranked in a fixed order, "Chargeback > Cancelled > Full Refund > Partial Refund > Normal Paid", and partial refunds are worked out per line item.

It then either exports separate amended, accepted and declined CSV files for Awin's batch upload, or submits approve and decline decisions to Awin directly through the API. Higher plans add what it calls publisher intelligence: enrichment credits, brand-bidding detection (US), compliance monitoring and fraud signals, including "Voucher Code Abuse" and "Unauthorized Promo Codes".

PayAudit is a product of 7 Rock Marketing, LLC, a California limited liability company.² Its changelog dates version 1.0.0 to 1 February 2026. We found no public Shopify App Store listing on 18 Sep 2026; its terms describe a custom distribution app.

What both do

• Match pending Awin transactions to Shopify orders.
• Treat full refunds and cancellations as declines and partial refunds as amends.
• Produce the files Awin's batch upload expects, split by decision.
• Read order-level data only. PayAudit says its queries "never select customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, or addresses"; AffCheck asks Shopify for read_orders and read_discounts only.

On Awin alone, the two overlap heavily. The differences are about what sits around that core.

Where they differ

Networks. PayAudit lists Shopify and Awin as active, and Impact, CJ Affiliate, Rakuten and Partnerize as "Support planned".³ AffCheck reads the CSV export of any network, starting with Awin, CJ, Rakuten Advertising and impact.com, so a store on two networks gets one queue.

Duplicate claims across networks. When Awin and CJ both report the same Shopify order, one claim should usually be declined. PayAudit's site shows no cross-network duplicate check; AffCheck groups every claim by Shopify order (how duplicate claims work).

Voucher codes. PayAudit flags voucher misuse as a fraud signal. AffCheck uses a code-owner table you set once, so a creator's code used by a coupon site is flagged with the code, its owner and the claiming publisher (voucher rules).

Where your data lives. PayAudit stores data on its servers, in "an isolated database" per merchant. AffCheck's free check reads both files in your browser tab and uploads nothing; the app, once live, keeps network rows for 13 months.

Pushing decisions. PayAudit can submit decisions to Awin by API today. AffCheck produces the file for you to upload, and plans API push on its Pro plan where your network plan includes an API. In both cases you should still review before anything is sent.

Status. PayAudit is live with a 14-day free trial. AffCheck is pre-launch: the free check and the app are being built, and the prices below are planned.

It adds credit packs (500 for $10, 1,000 for $18, 5,000 for $80), a 14-day trial with no card, and "Pays for itself in 30 days — or your first month is free."

AffCheck's planned prices are $29 a month for one network, $59 for up to five networks with duplicates and voucher rules, and $119 for high volume and API push, with annual billing at two months free and a 60-day guarantee. None of them takes a percentage of what you recover. See the plans.

When PayAudit is the better pick

• You are only on Awin, now and for the foreseeable future.
• You want decisions submitted to Awin by API today, not a file to upload.
• You also want publisher research: enrichment, brand-bidding detection, compliance checks.
• You need a working tool this month and can't wait for AffCheck's launch.

When AffCheck fits better

• You run two or more networks and want one queue and one deadline email.
• The same order is being claimed on two networks.
• Creator codes are being used by coupon or cashback sites.
• You want to check first without sending files anywhere: the free check runs in your browser.
• You'd rather pay $29–59 flat than start at $49 on one network.
